I live on a college campus in student housing, and instead of supplying ethernet ports for wired connections the university provides free wireless for the campus and for residents. The problem I am having is that despite a strong signal from the school's wireless connection, I get an error (the yellow triangle with the exclamation point) when it connects saying that the network is unidentified with no internet access. The troubleshooter is never able to fix it, and only every now and then does disabling and re-enabling (usually 7-10 times) my wireless network adapter or restarting Windows eventually allow me to connect. I spoke with my school's IT department, and this appears to be a Windows issue. They looked at all my information (IP address, etc) and said that everything was working properly on their end. They said there must be something in my settings that prevents my computer from connecting to their network. It's strange because the network comes in at full signal strength, yet when it does connect it says "No Internet Access." I was at a coffee shop the other day and I got the same error when I tried to connect to their wireless. This hasn't happened before. Luckily, I was able to connect after enabling/disabling the wireless adapter several times. I also had this same issue when I tried to connect to my wireless at work yesterday. Hi, This issue can occur by incompatible Wireless adapter driver or incorrect network settings. To troubleshoot the issue, please perform the following steps. 1. Upgrade the Wireless adapter driver to the latest one. 2. Please run the following command in an elevated command prompt in Windows 7: netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled 3. Disable SNP in Windows 7 by setting Registry as following: Note: Please perform a full-system backup first.
